As expected, most of the proceeding dealt with procedural issues. WNENA is now a recognized “Participant” in this action, please see our official statement in this regard to the OMB which is attached.

At least one further pre-hearing session will take place after an expected Staff Report to Markham Council is presented in November, and this second pre-hearing has also been set for November, 2010.

It was stated at the pre-hearing that the actual hearing to determine the future of this site which sits between Markham and Willowdale, is projected to take place in February, 2011, and will last for approximately 8 weeks. At this official hearing, there will be time allotted to have all registered Participants, and interested members of the concerned public, make statements on the record regarding this neighbourhood site’s proposed re-development.
